Dave is the founder of The Ride Academy. After starting on a bike at the age of 12, Dave has ridden in all aspects of bikes. From road rides at the weekend, to high level competitions. Dave is a fully qualified DVSA instructor as well as an Enhanced Rider Scheme Post Test Trainer/Examiner and holds ROSPA gold for advanced riding. Dave also holds an ACU race licence. He spent many years on track throughout the UK and Europe working with some real legends such as Steve plater, Nial McKenzie and Simon crafar. Of course, they all benefited from his experience?? Since leaving the military, Dave has instructed for over 15 years and has created a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere, where people can learn in a way that makes riding a fun and safe experience.

Being Dave’s Son and Co-Founder of The Ride Academy, Luke’s passion for bikes is at another level. Having ridden since he was 8, Luke’s riding ability is unquestionable. Having a love for anything on two wheels from mini-motor, motocross, track or café racer he is passionate about them all. Currently running the office and financial side of the business he is also undergoing training from his Dad for his ROSPA and instructor badges. Don’t let Luke’s age fool you, ask him anything on bikes and he will have the answer.

Yony has come from a biking back ground and has been around bikes her entire life, she has ridden herself for over 16 years on all types of bikes and is a very accomplished rider. She has worked as a office manager in our industry for over 15 years and there’s nothing she doesn’t know about motorcycle training, making her the perfect person to guide you through every step of your journey. Outside of work Yony loves the outdoors and walking with her partner Dave and dog Bran, both of which are now house trained and great off the lead!!

Mike Green is The Ride Academy’s very first homegrown Motorcycle Instructor – and we couldn’t be prouder to have him on the team. His journey with us began in July 2019 when he passed his motorcycle test, initially sparked by a friendly bet with his son. What started as a challenge quickly turned into a genuine passion for motorcycling.
Since then, Mike has become a familiar face on our tours and a valued member of our community. His dedication to developing his skills led him to complete advanced training, including BikeSafe, the Enhanced Rider Scheme, and ultimately earning the prestigious ROSPA Gold award – a recognition of his outstanding riding ability and progress.
Mike’s enthusiasm for riding and his deep connection to our community inspired him to take the next step: becoming an instructor. After rigorous training and hard work, he’s proudly earned his Ride Academy instructor bib. More than just an instructor, Mike is a true ambassador for our values and a core part of The Ride Academy team.

Lee has been riding bikes since he was a boy and since then has accumulated a wealth of experience. He is a fully qualified DVSA instructor as well as a Enhanced Rider Scheme Post Test Trainer/Examiner with over 12 years’ experience and holds ROSPA gold for advanced riding. Lee’s forte is European trips, and he has organised, led and instructed on multiple trips across Europe, all whilst coaching at the highest possible standard. This makes him The Ride Academy’s go to guy for all European adventures. Outside of work, Lee loves the gym and as a youth did a lot of boxing. Although you wouldn’t believe it with his pretty face. All around, Lee is a very approachable guy and has a knack for getting the best out of his students.
